countdown

It is the first week of being back in school. Yesterday was wednesday but I thought it was thursday and that today was already friday, which its not. I think i just cannot wait to go home. I am excited to see all that, which is familiar to my exitance. Anyways...i am just writing some random thoughts. By the way, sorry I have not written in a while, I guess I just havent got much to tell, or maybe i just find my life uninteresting at the moment.

this morning i woke up actually at a decent hour. I think some of that jetlag is starting to wear off. Then, i had some breakfast with the delicious mermelade that ivanos mom made and had some cookies and coffee. got ready, and headed to school. Was seriously hoping for no rain. It actually rained a little in the morning, but not too bad. I hate rain. It is seriously depressing. And then the heat gets even more humid. I just really dont like coming to school and being drenched in sweat by the time I get here.

btw... remember I told you i would no longer be doing my extra classes? well, on top of that today i was told that the third grade teachers decided that I should not teach the 3rd graders and should only do first grade because third graders always have lots of exams and they prepare for the highschool entrances and so the korean teachers prefer to use all of their class time with their third graders. Anyways... so im only gonna be teacher first grade, which im fine with, plus the essay class and then Im going to be coaching some kids for the hwasong speach contest.

what else can i tell you... ummm... yesterday i was happy cuz i got to talk to my friend eric on the phone for a bit. Always a pleasure to hear his voice.

Last night, i started to watch some episodes of NCSI, i think my dad likes that tv show. actually kinda cool. Think i might watch some more today.

hmmmmm..... i so wish i could go home right now. Just wanna get done. I mean, i have absolutely loved my experience here, but its time to go home. Time to grow, time to learn, time to make better use of my time and to work toward my future.

Back to reality

After spending two wonderful weeks in italy it was finally time to go back. The way back was pretty stress free. My only worry was that there would be any delay because I had just enough time to take the last shuttle bus to go back to suwon. And, if there was to be any delay I would have to wait until 4:45am to get the first shuttle bus off the airport and head to home and then directly to school from there. What a depressing coming back to korea. I get back home, and I realize that I didnt clean my sink very well before leaving and all these larva were growing underneath it. Then, the light bulbs at my apartment went out. Then, of course, because I had jetlag I just could not sleep and finally, I woke up to hot humid weather and rain. And all of this without my babbo.

Another thing I was not completely happy about... now the school is changing my extra class schedule and because of that (kinda hard to explain) I might not be able to do the extra classes AT ALL, which means about $1,100 dollars less that I will have on my bank account, which was all money I was counting on. AHHHH......

I was just thinking....

on my way to school I saw this one woman walking when it occurred to me. A huge part of why korean women always look nicely dressed is because they always wear really nice fashionable shoes and have awesome looking purses. I mean.... if you think about it... you can take almost any regular outfit and pair it with some nice shoes and a nice purse and it looks a lot nicer/dressier than if you had that same outfit with tennishoes and maybe a sports bag,.

Showing skin

Super verdad! omg... this coming is just SO true it makes me sick. Never in my life have I seen women wear such short shorts and short skirts and dresses in my life. I mean, some of these korean women wear shorts and skirts so short that you can practically see their private parts. No joke. In the US, ANYONE wearing something that short would serioulsy be considered a prostitute. Not be harsh, but its the truth. Because in our culture, you dont wear something that short unless you are asking for something, if you know what I mean. Anyways.. despite the fact that korea women dress like this, they are really conservative about the upper part of the body. Meaning... if you are wearing a low cut shirt and show some cleavage they look at you as if you were walking around naked! They just get offended that you would show that much skin. Oh, and lets not forget about tanktops and showing your shoulders! .... it is not very common to see here women that will just be wearing a tanktop and be exposing their shoulders. They usually have them covered with something. Same for the chest. Never really exposed. But I mean, does that really make sense?!???! Which is really worse. I mean... more exposing/demeaning... showing a little cleavage or practically showing your vagina to the world!!!!Oh, and they KNOW their skirts are short. You know how I know??? Going up the stairs they always cover their ass with those those big purses they are always carrying around. Sometimes you even see the boyfriends covering their girls' skirts for them as they go up the stairs. Anyways... this culture sometimes just makes no sense to me

Privates

Everywhere

This comic im not exactly sure what it refers to, as I have never been in such situation. However, I would like for you to pay attention to the background and look the the old guy who is just spitting. This you DO see everywhere. There is huge culture of spitting here, which, quite frankly, is a little gross. But its true. People spit everywhere, in the streets, in the mall, in the restaurant, in the bathroom.... you name it, they spit there

Recycling2
