Majorly distressed

I am majorly distressed. Yesterday I brought my ipod to school because I needed it for something I was working on and later that day it just kinda disappeared. I recall perfectly well taking it out of my purse that morning and just not finding it later after lunch. I really wanna think that I just maybe misplaced it somewhere and thus cannot find it. But I am starting to think that it is possible that someone might have taken it. So far, I have not had anything bad happen to me in Korea, let alone in school. But im seriously starting to wonder if maybe one of the students at school took it. I am hoping they didnt but I cant help but to think that. I already looked in my english room and twice at home and I keep checking my desk over and over again, but nothing. And its not the ipod that uposets me so much, but rather its contents. There are so many things on that ipod that I just cannot afford to lose.... let just hope it turns out somewhere

Buenas noches

ahhh (sigh)

Today I got frustrated because i spent all morning working on this one video about my vacation to italy and it was actually coming out really well. But then, somehow, and im not sure how I did it, i ended up erasing like half of it and had no idea how to get it back (as i downloaded the program to the school computer and have worked on it at school- so its all in korean) So i had to restart and do everything that I had done and so I wasted a lot of time. I just hope i dont mess up anything again. I wanna get a cool video and then when i finish it i will post it to youtube so you can see. Though i am not sure how that will work out as i think there is supposed to be a 10minute length limit and the video is definitely over 10minutes. Gonna have to wait and see how to work it out.

Today after school all the teachers are going out to dinner to celebrate because the vice principal got promoted to principal (at another school) Though I dont much mind hanging out and going to dinner and all i would honestly much rather just go home and rest. I am still on jetlag and tired as shit. (excuse my french) Every day this week I keep falling asleep towards 2 or 3 pm. So difficult! I hate feeling this tired, cuz then... even if i really want to get work done and be productive i simply cannot get anything accomplished because my body beats my mind and my eyes just start to close up infront of the computer. Its like studying for a final exam for long long hours. You are studying until late at night and there comes a point in the night when you have to read each thing 4-5 times because you read something but it goes in and out and you automatically forget what you JUST read. And then you head keeps falling, your eyes feel really heavy, and the time seems never to end. This is how i have more or less been feeling these past days.

At any rate.... my tummy hurts. I feel like i am hungry but at the same time i definitely dont feel like eating, especially not korean, not today. Guess im gonna have to suck it up. well, at least its friday! All i have to do for tomorrow is go to tobin's at night but other than that im free the whole weekend. Still debating whether to go dancing or not. Though I probably will not, as I need to save up money. Especially since I found out I wont be doing extra classes. Oh well.... such is life.

gotta go

countdown

It is the first week of being back in school. Yesterday was wednesday but I thought it was thursday and that today was already friday, which its not. I think i just cannot wait to go home. I am excited to see all that, which is familiar to my exitance. Anyways...i am just writing some random thoughts. By the way, sorry I have not written in a while, I guess I just havent got much to tell, or maybe i just find my life uninteresting at the moment.

this morning i woke up actually at a decent hour. I think some of that jetlag is starting to wear off. Then, i had some breakfast with the delicious mermelade that ivanos mom made and had some cookies and coffee. got ready, and headed to school. Was seriously hoping for no rain. It actually rained a little in the morning, but not too bad. I hate rain. It is seriously depressing. And then the heat gets even more humid. I just really dont like coming to school and being drenched in sweat by the time I get here.

btw... remember I told you i would no longer be doing my extra classes? well, on top of that today i was told that the third grade teachers decided that I should not teach the 3rd graders and should only do first grade because third graders always have lots of exams and they prepare for the highschool entrances and so the korean teachers prefer to use all of their class time with their third graders. Anyways... so im only gonna be teacher first grade, which im fine with, plus the essay class and then Im going to be coaching some kids for the hwasong speach contest.

what else can i tell you... ummm... yesterday i was happy cuz i got to talk to my friend eric on the phone for a bit. Always a pleasure to hear his voice.

Last night, i started to watch some episodes of NCSI, i think my dad likes that tv show. actually kinda cool. Think i might watch some more today.

hmmmmm..... i so wish i could go home right now. Just wanna get done. I mean, i have absolutely loved my experience here, but its time to go home. Time to grow, time to learn, time to make better use of my time and to work toward my future.

Back to reality

After spending two wonderful weeks in italy it was finally time to go back. The way back was pretty stress free. My only worry was that there would be any delay because I had just enough time to take the last shuttle bus to go back to suwon. And, if there was to be any delay I would have to wait until 4:45am to get the first shuttle bus off the airport and head to home and then directly to school from there. What a depressing coming back to korea. I get back home, and I realize that I didnt clean my sink very well before leaving and all these larva were growing underneath it. Then, the light bulbs at my apartment went out. Then, of course, because I had jetlag I just could not sleep and finally, I woke up to hot humid weather and rain. And all of this without my babbo.

Another thing I was not completely happy about... now the school is changing my extra class schedule and because of that (kinda hard to explain) I might not be able to do the extra classes AT ALL, which means about $1,100 dollars less that I will have on my bank account, which was all money I was counting on. AHHHH......

I was just thinking....

on my way to school I saw this one woman walking when it occurred to me. A huge part of why korean women always look nicely dressed is because they always wear really nice fashionable shoes and have awesome looking purses. I mean.... if you think about it... you can take almost any regular outfit and pair it with some nice shoes and a nice purse and it looks a lot nicer/dressier than if you had that same outfit with tennishoes and maybe a sports bag,.

Showing skin

Super verdad! omg... this coming is just SO true it makes me sick. Never in my life have I seen women wear such short shorts and short skirts and dresses in my life. I mean, some of these korean women wear shorts and skirts so short that you can practically see their private parts. No joke. In the US, ANYONE wearing something that short would serioulsy be considered a prostitute. Not be harsh, but its the truth. Because in our culture, you dont wear something that short unless you are asking for something, if you know what I mean. Anyways.. despite the fact that korea women dress like this, they are really conservative about the upper part of the body. Meaning... if you are wearing a low cut shirt and show some cleavage they look at you as if you were walking around naked! They just get offended that you would show that much skin. Oh, and lets not forget about tanktops and showing your shoulders! .... it is not very common to see here women that will just be wearing a tanktop and be exposing their shoulders. They usually have them covered with something. Same for the chest. Never really exposed. But I mean, does that really make sense?!???! Which is really worse. I mean... more exposing/demeaning... showing a little cleavage or practically showing your vagina to the world!!!!Oh, and they KNOW their skirts are short. You know how I know??? Going up the stairs they always cover their ass with those those big purses they are always carrying around. Sometimes you even see the boyfriends covering their girls' skirts for them as they go up the stairs. Anyways... this culture sometimes just makes no sense to me

Privates

Everywhere

This comic im not exactly sure what it refers to, as I have never been in such situation. However, I would like for you to pay attention to the background and look the the old guy who is just spitting. This you DO see everywhere. There is huge culture of spitting here, which, quite frankly, is a little gross. But its true. People spit everywhere, in the streets, in the mall, in the restaurant, in the bathroom.... you name it, they spit there

Recycling2
