SATURDAY- so then Saturday i went to my Korean class, then went over to Junha's where of course, they fed me as always. Had a great time with the kids. Btw...when i came into junha's house i was super surprised to see sth... Jacky had her hair pulled back! she looked super cute... so adorable. Seriously. I honestly think she should wear her hair down more often, it emphasizes her facial features and makes her look younger. But according to Jacky she would rather wear her hair down because she says her face is big.... whatever... that is nonsense. I guess that day she only was wearing her hair up because she did not wash it. Oh, so then after Junha's Jacky dropped me off at the bus station and i headed out to Seoul to meet up with Dana for our thanksgiving dinner
SEOUL- First off... i was super stupid... i got on the right bus and all but getting there there was a lot of traffic and so i was already running late. I was supposed to meet Dana at 4:30 but knew i was not gonna make it on time. So was already getting a bit frustrated because of this. Then, when i was already in Seoul ... since the bus had taken so long for a second I thought i had already gone past Seoul station and so i got off the bus and tried to find the nearest close subway. Unsuccessfully. then, after walking for at least like 20min i realized i had gotten off too early... the bus, though it had taken a really long time, actually had not gone by Seoul station, which is where i was going. The whole journey was not complicated at all. I was to get off at Seoul station, then go to the metro, transfer once and there i was! BUT NO!... thanks to my great stupidity, i ended up getting off the bus, walking for many many minutes (and making Dana wait for me in the mean time), having to get in a another express bus (and pay yet again)- this after not being able to find a taxi, and getting there at 5:30 instead of 4:30. I seriously felt super bad cuz Dana had to wait that whole time. Oh, and btw... she actually got there early! so really, she waited from like an hour and a half for me! shame on me. So now you might wonder... is there any good in this?
well, we did get to the party fine and in time, as everybody i guess got there a bit later. So we did not really miss out on anything, which is good. The thanksgiving dinner party was at one of Dana's friend's house... there were a bunch of people there, lots of food, things to drink, etc etc etc. Omg...and this one pumpkin cheesecake that was OUT OF THIS WORLD! no joke., i had like 2 and a half pieces... probably consumed my calories for the whole week on that cake. but it was SO GOOD.
So then after dinner and all i wanted to go salsa dancing. I had found this one place online called Macondo, which is supposed to be good for salsa dancing and is open until 4am and so we headed out that way. I had gotten too, directions on how to get there online. But I clearly must have done something wrong because we followed the directions and could not find the place. I was like... what else can possible happen! The whole bus thing... now this.... Oh well, so Dana and i walked for a while trying to find the place, but eventually gave up and so we opted for going to a hookah bar. Were there for a while, hung out, and then decided to head out to a jimjillbang (cannot spell in English)- these are the Korean bathhouses. There are some that are only open certain hours and other where you can spend the night as well. So we went to this one, went in got our PJ'S (they give them to you) and took a shower, got in the different tubs, i got in the sauna for a bit, then got dressed, picked up a mat and a spot on the floor and went to bed. Oh, btw... lots of snoring going on. But I guess i was so tired i just passed out.
MUST MENTION! As we were heading out of the hookah bar on the elevator, we stuck conversation with this one guy and girl... they heard us speak English and so they began to converse with us. And guess where the guy is from????? any guesses........? Akron, OH!!!! I was like,,, you have GOT to be kidding me. seriously? so yeah, that was the exciting part of the day. Anywho... i gave him my info. Hope he adds me to facebook soon. He seemed kinda nice. Said he had been in Korea for like 2 weeks, so totally newbelike me :-)
