Scenario: 4 people, My friend Mingu, Val, I, and the bartender. I want to invite them a drink, especially Mingu since he invited last time.
anais: Hey guys, come over here, lets get a drink. What do you want?
Mingu: I will have the Havanna Bomb, its really good. You should try it.
Anais to Val: You wanna try it?
Val: ummmm
Anais: Ok, you'll try it. Mingu says its good
Anais to Bartender: 2 Havanna Bombs and a Jack Daniels on the rocks please!
(i give her my credit card and she passes it through)
1 min later
Bartender: (Korean) ummm.... its not working. May I see it again?
(she tries again)
Bartender: (Korean) its not going through. Do you have another card?
Anais: No
(at this point, I of course remember that earlier in the day I used to rest of the cash that I had. I look at my wallet not sure what to do)
Dad's voice in my head: Anais, siempre hay que tener dinero. Nunca se sabe cuando se puede necesitar.
Anais to dad's voice: yeah yeah yeah.... i know. I but I DID have cash! I just used it all.
Dad's voice: siempre hay que tener dinero
Anais: Oh... be quiet!
(Next thing I know....)
Mingu to Anais: Don't worry about it. I got you covered. Next time you can buy.
(Mingu goes get his wallet and he pays for the drinks)
THE END
Later that night I remembered Dana telling me that in some banks there are certain hours of the night in which you cannot use your credit card because they update their system or something and its some kind of security thing. I remembered her telling me a story of a similar situation in which she needed money but her card was not working. In her case though, her card was not working at the ATM. So there you have it. Always have extra cash on you!
